Q & A with Mommy Vivi

You might have heard the news from Facebook……………….. The rumor is true. I’M PREGNANT! =D Haha… =p

Since the time we learned about our upcoming baby, I’ve been asked a lot of questions. So I thought I’d just put my answers here.. Hahaha.. Watchathink?

Is this pregnancy planned?

No. Hahahaha… Well, we’ve been married almost 4 years and to be honest we are still enjoying each other’s company as if we are just boyfriend-girlfriend. Date and travels here and there. In fact, we were supposed to go on an overseas trip mid this year. It’s obviously going to be cancelled. We’re also saving up for a sports car. So it looks like this too will be put on hold. =p So learning about my pregnancy was a surprise to us. We were shocked to be exact. Lol… But God’s timing is always perfect. It may not be our plan, but it is God’s. And for that we are very happy. Nothing is more exciting than knowing that you are actually holding a “life” inside you. Sounds pretty amazing to me.

Do you have severe pregnancy symptoms?

I can’t afford to. Haha.. I’m alone in the house, literally. I can’t afford to be sickly. My family and friends are miles away from me. Although my neighbors are of great help, I need to be healthy! I do feel nauseous throughout the day but just mind over matter! Haha.. I feel unusually hot, feeling like you have a fever, most of the time too. Other than that, I’m ok. =)  Or should I say, I have to be ok!

***Update: Wahhh! This mind over matter doesn’t seem to work anymore. =( Vomiting has officially started today.

What is your day like now?

Wow, rest. Just that. I had to cut down almost all my activities except household chores. I still cook and prepare food for my husband, clean the house. But basically, I almost stopped working. I don’t take hosting gigs anymore (makes me super sad since my career is really taking off). And I had to slow down on our business. So there, I just rest at home and read a lot! Hubby bought me a book on pregnancy a couple of years ago. It had collected dust ever since. But now, its pages just came alive! I’ve been learning a lot!

What has changed since the time you learned you were pregnant?

I became very cautious about the things that I do and eat. All of a sudden, I started caring about myself because taking care of myself is taking care of my baby. I now eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I drink a lot of water. I rest. Things I should have been doing even without a baby. God made me realize that I should really take care of myself with or without a baby because my body is God’s temple. I honor God when I take care of my health.

Do you already have name?

Hubby wants Natalie if it’s a girl and Marcus if it’s a boy. We both want 2 names so we are still thinking of the second name.

Do you want a baby girl or a baby boy?

Baby girl! But of course, whether it’s a girl or boy, our prayer is that baby will be healthy. =) We also intend to not know the baby’s gender until it’s born. So it’s going to be a surprise! =D

What can we pray for you?

Healthy baby!! Please pray for our safety. I’m still waiting for some lab results. Hopefully everything is normal and that I’d have a normal pregnancy and childbirth. And breastfeed!! I really intend to breastfeed at least until the baby is 6 months old or a year old. I’ve been asking young moms I know and almost none of them were successfully able to breastfeed. But yesterday, one of our neighbors who’s almost my age was able to breastfeed her baby boy for a year! I was just so encouraged I wanted to cry. She said it was a hard start especially she had a caesarian delivery but it can be done! She’s heaven sent and an answered prayer. Now, I have someone to encourage and support me. If she was able to do it, I know I can do it too. =) Please help me pray! Thank you!

Thank you so much to all of you. Your excitement makes me even more excited about our baby. =D

I’ll see you soon!
