Our Christmas Tree is Up!

I had been waiting for this in months!! It’s been 3 years since I last decorated a Christmas tree.

3 years ago… My husband and I decided to move overseas. So we didn’t bother buy a Christmas tree.

2 years ago… We have decided that it was time to go back to the Philippines. So we didn’t bother buy a Christmas tree.

1 year ago… We were about to move to our new house. We weren’t sure when. So we didn’t bother buy a Christmas tree.

And this year, finally! Since August, I’d been telling him that we were going to buy a Christmas tree on the 1st day of September. Unfortunately, I’ve been to several malls and none of them have displayed their Christmas trees. Last weekend, we finally saw one and bought it in a heartbeat! Haha..

I had this decoration since August =p Call me ‘excited’ haha..

When do you plan to have your Christmas tree?

We put our tree up at Thanksgiving time. That’s when most people put their tree up in the US.

I get excited about Christmas as well!

BTW My Step-Grandma – the only Grandma I knew on that side is from the Philippines.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I love decorating for Christmas. The years we go visiting my mother-in-law in Texas for Christmas, we don’t do much decorating at all. But this year we have (finally) a house of our own, so I might go a little overboard. :) Our Christmas decorations normally start the day after Thanksgiving here in the States. Stores are already starting to bring in their Christmas merchandise, though, so I keep an eye out for sales.

We’ve always put up real trees. Because they can be such a mess and since we don’t have kids we only had a tree when we were hosting. Last year we finally bought an artificial tree. So I’m now looking forward to decorating a tree every year. Though it is fun to pull out the decorations when you haven’t seen them in a while.
